one-hit wonders

A really nice Soviet version of Winnie-the-Pooh on Youtube, courtesy of Martin Klasch.
As Youtube (Google) is fighting off a Viacom lawsuit at the moment, I recommend grabbing anything you love from there and storing it elsewhere. I just discovered this service called Zamzar that will automagically convert file formats and email a link to the results to you. In other words, you paste in a youtube link and you can then download a converted .avi or whatever. Handy! (You can also upload files from local).
And on the subject of filesharing and so forth, I came across this other handy service called Sharebee - upload your mp3 (or whatever) to them and they automatically upload it to Rapidshare et al, then you can link to the page’o'links to your file. Handy for mp3blogging and the like. I kind of wish all the mp3bloggers would start using this because they mostly all seem to use Rapidshare which is an unholy pain to use from the downloading side.

Latest flash minigame obsession. Well, very low-level obsession. I usually am not crazy about this family of games. You try to get the angle and release strength right to catapult a series of cannonballs into different castles and… smash them.
More fun than it sounds, or at least more fun than it sounds to me.

it’s a small world.

I just got a shock upon reading at this blog post that the it’s a small world ride is closed at Disneyworld and Disneyland.
Turns out this is false (*whew*). The ride is closed at Disneyworld but not at Disneyland. Note that even though above-cited post is wrong wrong wrong it still might be worthy of a visit if you want to see their copy of original souvenir record w/ the song (and download mp3 of the song too).
This is a sorry excuse for a blog post. I’ll have to post some more now shortly here to atone. And I will.
Update: In the interests of making this a slightly worthier post, here is a link to the youtube video of the it’s a small world ride, I think at Disneyland.
oo, a wonderful (free) minigame

Amazingly atmospheric freeware platform game (name of Knytt) that defies description. Not a lot of complicated gameplay but one of the most well-created alternate worlds I’ve seen… Minimal but lovely.
The same creator made another game called Within a Deep Forest which comes recommended but I’m not quite as crazy about it; mainly because the hero is a bouncing ball which I find a little difficult.

It bears repeating: David Shrigley is brilliant. Buy his books if he has any or purchase some of his art if he has any for sale. This will be his recompense for my selfish use without permission of images from his website.
Kyung Bok yearbook ‘75

This is the 1975 yearbook of Korean elementary school Kyung Bok. Trim the URL to go up a level and see links to powerpoint presentations about their 30th reunion, which I’m sure are well worthy of a look though I haven’t yet.

I heart flash retro-gaming. This one is from Nintendo and is a satisfying if simple platform game.
